The PRESIDENT'S MINUTE
January 2012

A Happy New Year’s to all. The 49ers ended the year in great style as I am told our Holiday Party had over 50 Members in attendance, the largest number we have had in several years. A big “thanks” to all those who helped set-up and take-down of which there were many. Also a special “thanks” to Linda Starbird for the center pieces. It is my understanding that she plans ahead and acquires these charming items during the sales of the previous year and stores them for our pleasure the following year.

GPAA Gold Show: The show will be held January 21st and 22nd in Pomona at the Fairplex. We will need some Members to help at our booth/table. Please notify a Board Member if you can volunteer some time on either of those days.

January Outing: The Outing will be held at Puppy Feet. On Saturday morning, the 28th, we will hold a “Claim Crawl” where we will visit all the Club’s claims in the desert. See the details later in this edition from the Wagon master.

Elections: The Club will hold elections for officers in January. The job descriptions were printed in last month’s Aura. If you should have questions, do ask a Board Member, as the Club is always looking for Members who are interested in volunteering their time to the club.

Dues: If you have forgotten to pay your dues, you will find you name in the “Potential Claims Jumpers” list later in this edition. The club appreciated collecting dues on a timely basis as this helps us budget for the year.

Scheduled Outings: The Outings for 2012 will be posted on the Web page after the next Board Meeting. Depending on the status of dredging, the Outing in the summer are subject to change. We are also considering some day outings and if you have any ideas or suggestions, the Board would appreciate hearing of them.
Hope to see you in the desert on the 28th.

Happy Prospecting,

Steve
